Morning, CK. Good news to start the week — the water restriction has been lifted. Here's what's changed, plus a great local fundraising result and what's on for the week ahead.
⛽ Gas & ☀️ Weather

Weather: Hot and humid this afternoon at 29°, but with the humidity it'll feel more like 39° — there's also a real risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon (40% chance of rain). Evening cools slightly to 26° (feels 35°) and turns partly cloudy. Overnight settles at 23°, still muggy.
💧 Major Story — Emergency Water Restriction Lifted
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is lifting the emergency water restriction that's been in place for Chatham, Grande Pointe, Pain Court, Dover Centre, Mitchell's Bay, Dresden, Tupperville, Eberts, Prairie Siding, Thamesville, and Kent Bridge. Effective immediately, residents and businesses in those communities can resume normal water use — showering, laundry, and bathing are all back to normal. Restaurants, car washes, and laundromats are no longer being asked to stay closed, and municipal splash pads and arenas in the affected areas reopen as scheduled tomorrow, September 1.
The municipality's largest industrial, commercial, and institutional water users are being asked to ramp back up gradually over the next few days, to avoid putting sudden strain back on the system.
