⚓ Major Story — WAMBO 2026 Wraps Up: Nearly 250 Vehicles and Massive Crowds Hit Wallaceburg
The 38th Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing brought nearly 250 classic and antique vehicles — plus dozens of beautiful boats moored along the Sydenham River — to downtown Wallaceburg on Friday and Saturday. Tens of thousands of visitors packed the streets for what was by all accounts one of the biggest WAMBO weekends in recent memory.
The expanded entertainment lineup this year — with added performances from the Wallaceburg Arts Council, a 50-50 draw running all day Saturday, and WAMBO @ the Museum at the Wallaceburg Museum — gave the event more depth than previous years. Local businesses reported strong foot traffic throughout the weekend, with WAMBO specials running across downtown.

🏥 Major Story — CK Considers Transferring Former Care Facility for Addictions Recovery
Chatham-Kent council is weighing a significant decision — transferring a former long-term care facility at 110 Sandys Street to The Quiring Foundation, which would use it for addictions treatment and recovery services.
This would be a meaningful step for a community that, like many across Ontario, has been grappling with the impacts of addiction on families and neighbourhoods. A dedicated facility in CK would give residents access to local support rather than having to travel for treatment.
