On Saturday morning, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent issued an immediate emergency water restriction covering Chatham and surrounding communities — this time limiting essential activities like showering, bathing, and laundry, not just car washes and lawn watering.
The escalation comes down to ongoing supply challenges following repairs to the main water transmission line. Local businesses have already started adapting to help manage the situation, and the ripple effects are showing up in unexpected places — including a cancelled hockey game (more on that below).
