📍 Local Spots
Thai Kitchen & Bar. A CKNow reader wrote in to rave about this family-run restaurant at 634 Grand Ave. E. The family came to Chatham from Bracebridge, where they also ran a Thai restaurant. Our reader says the food is delicious and varied (Thai and Vietnamese dishes among them), the portions are large and the prices are reasonable.
They keep adding new things too, including bubble tea, sweet Thai coffee, fresh-made ice cream and baked goods. It sounds like a family working hard to make a go of it in Chatham, and worth a visit. Call 519-355-1155 or see the menu at thaikitchenbar.com.

💙 Major Story — Willi's Match Tops $100,000 in Six Days for CK Hospice
A matching-gift campaign for Chatham-Kent Hospice has passed its $100,000 goal in just six days, according to Sydenham Current. Because every donation is being matched, the campaign now stands at a combined $200,000.
The match comes from Willi and Nestor Kirenko, who launched "Willi's Match" to encourage support for compassionate end-of-life care at the hospice. Read more at Sydenham Current →
🧬 Major Story — Swab Up, Save a Life: Stem Cell Swab Event Tuesday
Cancer survivor and stem cell transplant recipient Ethan Hunter is hosting a swab event on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 10 AM to 2 PM at St. Clair College's Thames campus, according to CK News Today. The Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association, which has run similar events in the area for several years, is helping him put it on.
The swab is quick and painless, and it adds volunteers to the Canadian Blood Services Stem Cell Registry. You don't need to be matched with anyone to join, but only people aged 17 to 35 can take part. Hunter was once told he had only weeks to live and found his own match at a similar event, and he says he's hosting this one so someone else can find theirs. Read more at CK News Today →
