Good morning, Chatham-Kent. Council made a big decision yesterday, the housing market just broke a record, and there's an important drop-off event happening this morning. Here's your Tuesday. 👇

✅ Major Story — CK Council Approves Addictions Recovery Facility at 110 Sandys Street
Meadow Park Long Term Care Home
It's official — Chatham-Kent council has approved the transfer of the former Meadow Park long-term care facility at 110 Sandys Street to The Quiring Foundation, which will use it for addictions treatment and recovery services.
This is a meaningful step for CK. A dedicated local recovery facility means residents struggling with addiction will have access to treatment right here in the community rather than having to travel elsewhere. The Quiring Foundation has a track record in recovery programming, and this facility gives them a permanent home in CK to do that work.
🏠 Major Story — Chatham-Kent Housing Market Sets Record for New Listings

The CK real estate market just hit a new milestone — the most new home listings in a single month on record, with July sales reaching a five-year high.
For buyers, more inventory means more choice. For sellers, the strong sales numbers signal healthy demand. For anyone on the fence about listing or buying, the CK market is moving — and July's numbers back that up.
Relevant timing given that 75 candidates are now registered for the municipal election, many of whom have housing as a platform issue.
