🗑️ Major Story — York1 Drops Court Bid, But Dresden Project Still Alive
York1 has formally withdrawn its court application, which had argued its proposed Dresden landfill and waste processing project didn't require local zoning approval. The municipality confirms it received a formal Notice of Abandonment on September 24. This doesn't end the project — it means York1 is expected to proceed through the regular municipal planning process instead.
🚨 Major Story — CSC Investigating How Chatham Murderer Escaped Prison
The Correctional Service of Canada is now investigating exactly how Mason Jenkins, the Chatham man convicted of murdering his sister, was able to walk away from the minimum-security Collins Bay Institution. The manhunt remains underway.
