🌻 The Big Weekend Ahead
Tomorrow kicks off one of the busiest weekends of the CK summer. Here's what's coming:
🎵 Alice Armstrong (Blues) — Fri, July 31. Live blues at the Old Czech Hall in Dresden.
🌻 Sunflowers for a Cause (opens Sat, Aug 1). Puddleford Tree Farm in Kent Bridge opens its sunflower fields in support of the CK Alzheimer Society Day Program — $5/vehicle, $1 per stem. Our full feature drops in tomorrow's Friday briefing.
🎨 Erieau — Art on the Boulevard (Sat, Aug 1). Artists and makers line the boulevard in lakeside Erieau.
🛒 Grand Ave Market — Grand Opening (Sat, Aug 1). A new local market opens in Chatham.
🏁 Buxton Speedway Double-Header (Aug 1–2). Late Model Shoot-Out racing all weekend.
🕊️ Emancipation Day (Sat, Aug 1). A meaningful day in Chatham-Kent's calendar — fitting, given our region's deep Underground Railroad history.
⚓ Looking further ahead — WAMBO (Aug 8–9). Wallaceburg's signature summer festival, the Antique Motor & Boat Outing, returns the following weekend — antique cars, classic boats along the Sydenham, and tens of thousands of visitors downtown. Wallaceburg readers, mark your calendars.
