Morning, CK. A stretch of serious heat to plan around, plus an active police situation worth knowing about before you head out. Here's Tuesday.
⛽ Gas & ☀️ Weather
Gas: Prices around Chatham range from 168.5¢ at UPI Energy (212 Grand Ave W) up to 169.9¢ today. Check today's cheapest stations on GasBuddy →
Weather: This is the heat warning in action — 30° this afternoon, but with the humidity it'll feel like a dangerous 42°. Mainly sunny with a 30% chance of showers. Evening only eases slightly to 27° (feels 38°), still partly cloudy. Overnight settles at 23° with a 60% chance of rain. Stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak afternoon heat, and check on anyone who might be vulnerable.
🌡️ Major Story — Multi-Day Heat Warning in Effect Through Wednesday
A yellow-level heat warning has been issued for Chatham-Kent and stays in effect through Wednesday. After yesterday's feels-like temperatures in the high 30s, this isn't a one-day spike — it's a stretch worth actually planning around.
Why it matters to CK: Multi-day heat events are harder on the body than a single hot afternoon, especially for older adults, young kids, and anyone without reliable air conditioning. Check in on neighbours who might be more vulnerable, and treat today and tomorrow with the same caution you'd give a storm warning.
